Project Manager

Position type: Permanent, Full time
Location: Wallingford, UK (Due to COVID-19 remote working will be required initially)
Reports to: Director of Operations

P1vital Products Ltd (PPL) is an established SME specialising in the development of mental health software products for the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. The Project Manager role is a critical position within PPL responsible for the overall relationship management of client accounts and day to day project management including communication activities, to ensure that PPL is able to deliver quality projects and services on time and within budget through effective management of resources. Key responsibilities of this role comprise:

Project Management
– Management of one or more projects with a focus on delivery of the scope on time, within budget and with a high-quality outcome
– Compile and maintain project-specific plans tailored to each study to drive efficient implementation including, but not limited to, project Gantt, detailed risk management plan with identification of timely mitigation strategies, communications plan
– Monitor project scope, timelines and milestones, issues and risks for one or more projects
– Monitor project financials, budget tracking and accuracy of invoicing
– Track key problems / issues and work with the other team members to ensure timely resolution
– Apply appropriate levels of governance, hold project team and partners to account, and escalate critical issues to Senior Management Team as needed
– Create and maintain accurate study documentation and reports
– Capture minutes/action items during Client and internal status meetings
– Deliver the project successfully, ensuring that all study deliverables are tracked
– Author and/or review company SOPs and guidelines as required
– Personnel management and mentorship of Junior Project Manager

– Lead Client meetings to manage client interactions and expectations in line with PPL’s capabilities
– Lead internal cross functional project meetings, capturing minutes and action items
– Provide pro-active communication with all stakeholders

Skills and Experience:

Essential Competencies

– Strong understanding of clinical research (pharma, device and/or biotech sectors) or healthcare sectors, and of clinical research and/or healthcare SaaS technology
– Proven track record of project management expertise
– Extensive experience of customer and supplier management
– Ability to deliver results to the appropriate quality and timeline metrics
– Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and to work independently in a fast-paced environment
– Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with project colleagues, managers and clients, with ability to manage and motivate others
– Ability to manage cross-functional teams encompassing IT, Data Management, Clinical, and Science disciplines
– Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and oral)
– Advanced organisational and time management skills
– Concern for quality, attention to detail and accuracy
– Self-motivated and able to assume responsibility in a professional manner
– Experience in using key programs including MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
– Proactive contribution to PPL by being a versatile and flexible team player

– Bachelor’s (and/or higher) degree in Life Sciences or a related scientific field
– Project Management experience essential; minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Project Manager required
– Prior experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device or academic life sciences sectors preferred
– Understanding of SaaS technology in clinical research or healthcare desirable
– Experience of managing small teams in a project based environment desirable
